About me...
I've found that as we face life's challenges, we often learn to respond from places of hurt or fear in efforts to self-protect, versus responding in congruence with who we are and our values; overtime these patterns of responding can create isolation. I work to empower clients of all ages to recognize and heal from past hurts, so that they may experience connection and community, which I believe are essential to our overall well-being.
I hold a certificate in adolescent counseling and enjoy working with children and teens, alongside their caregivers and families. I utilize play therapy techniques, sand tray, and art, as I help children and teens process their personal challenges, equipping and empowering them with greater emotional intelligence and self awareness. I am experienced in working with ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, and challenging behaviors. I also enjoy working with teens on identity formation and self-esteem. Additionally, having worked in foster care for 5 years, including serving as a foster parent myself, I am passionate about serving those impacted by foster care.
As a homeschool mom, I spend much of my free time with my kids and husband. We enjoy baking, painting, crafting, and telling jokes. On the weekends, my family loves camping and hiking, and I personally enjoy sports, anything outdoors, trying new things, and all things chocolate.
