Biblical self-acceptance & identity exploration, increasing self-awareness
I enjoy the process of helping people increase their self-awareness and translate that into deeper and more meaningful relationships with God and others. I am especially passionate about working with people of color and journeying with them in the unique challenges and joys of their multi-cultural experience. I have a collaborative counseling style, beginning with learning about your specific goals for therapy and working through each issue together. I enjoy the process of gaining an understanding of your unique background and current circumstances and would be happy to have the privilege of building a therapeutic relationship with you. I would be glad to help you work towards achieving your goals for personal and relational growth with God and others!
About me...
I was born and raised in Ft. Worth, TX and moved to Austin in 2011 for my undergraduate studies at the University of Texas. In 2015, I graduated with my Bachelor’s of Art in Psychology and continued to pursue my Masters at St. Edwards University. I graduated in 2017 with my Masters of Art in Counseling. I worked at the Capital Area Counseling Center, a private practice on the East side of Austin, TX where I enjoyed working with clients from a diverse demographic – comprising varying cultural and ethnic backgrounds. I have experience as a Case Manager for adults and adolescents from my time at The Georgetown Behavioral Health Institute where I worked with the inpatient acute/crisis population. I learned about the numerous community resources in central Texas and mental health organizations across the country which I could refer to those I worked with for continued treatment and support. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my loved ones, long walks/hikes in nature, board games, sports (especially basketball), laughing, eating good food, and enjoying music and dance. I am privileged to serve in several of my church’s ministries. Currently I am serving in our International Graduate Student Ministry, as well as our Elderly Care Ministry.
